MOTHER'S DAY IDEA PAGE

How about using the Star as the theme for Mother's Day. After all, Mom is the star of the home. She makes things bright and cheery even when it is dark and dreary. She is the star of a child's world and is one who points the way to heaven to the children she is given. She is a REAL star!

Craft Idea for Older Children:

Using the Mom, You're a Star! idea, how about making a small TV set and putting a picture of Mom on the front. Take a small box like an animal cracker box or pudding box (you can take the stuff out and use it for snack time another day). Cover the box with construction paper and let the kids draw the knobs and buttons on it. Using a blue or gray paper, make the "screen." Then either draw pictures of their mom or place a picture on the screen if you were able to do snapshots the couple of Sundays prior to Mother's Day. Then let the kids put on the finishing touches to make their Mom look like the star of the show!

Poem for Younger Children:

Here is a cute poem that would look adorable on the front of a card, inside of a card, or framed with solid color construction paper.

Mom You are a Star

by Amy Dee

Mom, you are a star
Your smile shines so bright
You give me kisses every day
And hugs every night.

Mom, you are a star
You shine for all to see
Though everyone thinks you're really great
No one loves you more than me.
